The Simi Valley community is continuing to wrap its arms around the Beck family following the heartbreaking loss of 13-year-old Reis Beck.
A beloved member of the Simi Youth Baseball community and a 7th grader at Sinaloa Middle School, Reis's passing has sparked an overwhelming wave of local support. This week, several Simi Valley staples are stepping up to ensure the family has the resources they need to navigate this nightmare.
On Thursday, April 30, 2025, Cronies Sports Grill in Simi Valley will host a fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., donating a portion of all direct dine-in and takeout proceeds to the family. Note that third-party delivery apps like DoorDash are excluded, so ordering directly is essential to contribute.
The support continues into the weekend.
On Friday, May 1, 2026, Froyo & Fido will be stepping up in a massive way, donating 100% of all froyo sales throughout the day to the Beck family.
Residents are encouraged to stop by, grab a treat, and contribute to a cause that has unified the entire city. Between these local events and the ongoing GoFundMe campaign, which has already raised over $54,000, Simi Valley is making it clear that no neighbor mourns alone.
