The world's most famous hazelnut spread just got a massive upgrade.

For the first time in over six decades, Nutella has officially broken its "original recipe only" streak to launch Nutella Peanut.

The new hybrid spread is hitting shelves across the United States, blending the iconic cocoa-hazelnut base with roasted peanuts.

This is not just a minor tweak.

Ferrero confirmed this is the first flavor innovation since the brand's birth in the 1960s.

According to Noah Szporn, Senior Vice President of Spreads at Ferrero North America, the move was inspired by years of fan requests and a recent viral moment involving a jar of Nutella floating in space.

To celebrate this milestone, Nutella is heading to the Big Apple.

A high-energy, limited-time pop-up will take over 372 Lafayette Street in NoHo on May 16 and May 17, 2026.

The event is free and promises interactive games, personalized keepsakes, and plenty of free Nutella Peanut snacks like sandwiches and dippable treats.

While the peanut blend is the first new flavor, it follows a string of bold moves from the company.

Back in October 2025, Nutella expanded its empire into the freezer aisle with several ice cream variants.

Now, with the launch of Nutella Peanut, the brand is betting big that your afternoon snack routine is ready for a nutty revolution.
