A routine trip to a department store turned into a nightmare in Pucón after an armored armored truck ran over two women in a crowded parking lot.

The horrific incident, which took place in the La Araucanía region of Chile, was captured in graphic detail by security cameras at a Falabella store.

According to Major Gerald Salazar of the Pucón Carabineros, the driver of the armored vehicle was reversing toward the store's entrance when he failed to notice the two pedestrians.

The video shows the massive truck continuing to back up until it struck the women.

In a stomach-turning moment, two of the truck’s heavy wheels passed directly over one woman’s legs, resulting in a serious open fracture.

The driver reportedly told authorities he simply did not perceive the women's presence.

However, the Public Prosecutor's Office argues the driver was blatantly inattentive to traffic conditions.

The suspect was hauled before the Guarantee Court of Pucón, where he was formally charged with a quasi-crime of serious injuries.

Despite the severity of the victim's injuries, the driver was released shortly after his hearing with standard precautionary measures.

The court has now established a 90-day investigation window to determine exactly how the professional driver managed to miss two people in his direct path.

As one victim faces a long recovery from her fractures, the incident has sparked a local debate regarding the safety protocols of armored transport vehicles in high-traffic commercial zones.
