A Simi Valley family is reeling after a pair of brazen thieves jumped their fence and smashed through a window in broad daylight. The high-stakes heist went down on Sycamore Drive, leaving a local household devastated and searching for answers.
The suspects, described by victims as "tweakers," targeted the home at approximately 11:44 a.m. on Monday. Driving a white Honda Accord, the duo bypassed perimeter security, shattered a window, and ransacked the property in a matter of minutes.
The haul included over $20,000 worth of gold jewelry, representing precious family history and hard-earned assets gone in a flash.
The victim’s brother managed to catch the suspects on camera during the frantic search, but the thieves managed to flee before authorities could intervene.
This is an ongoing investigation, and Simi Valley authorities have confirmed that the suspects have not been caught.
Police are currently looking for any additional surveillance footage from neighbors on or around Sycamore Drive that might show the white Honda Accord’s license plate.
Regarding residential vulnerability, burglars often target homes during mid-morning hours between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. when they assume residents are away.
More updates to come as law enforcement processes the scene and releases further descriptions of the suspects.
