A Moorpark teenager is in handcuffs after his side hustle selling drugs on social media allegedly sent two other kids to the hospital.

The investigation began in January 2026 when Moorpark patrol deputies responded to a call regarding two juveniles who had overdosed on marijuana edibles.

The case was immediately handed over to the Moorpark Investigations Unit, which tracked the source of the drugs back to a 16-year-old local resident.

Detectives discovered the teen was primarily using social media platforms to facilitate his operations, pushing marijuana products directly to other minors in the community.

On April 16, 2026, authorities served a search warrant at the suspect's residence on the 50 block of Majestic Court.

The raid uncovered far more than just "home-made" brownies. Along with a mountain of drug packaging materials and a large stash of cash suspected to be illicit proceeds, investigators found a loaded handgun with an extended magazine.

A serial number check revealed the firearm had been reported stolen out of Simi Valley.

The 16-year-old is now facing multiple felony charges, including Health and Safety Code 11361(b) (Marijuana Sales to a Minor) and HS 11375(b)(1) (Sale of a Designated Controlled Substance). Due to the nature of the arrest and the presence of a stolen weapon in the home, Child Protective Services (CPS) has been notified and is involved in the case.

Detectives are still digging into how a teenager ended up with a stolen, loaded weapon. The bust highlights a growing trend of "digital dealers" who utilize social media to bypass traditional street corners and reach kids directly in their bedrooms.
