Bhopal Railway Accident: Man Critically Injured After Being Dragged by Moving Train

A man is fighting for his life after a severe accident at the Bhopal railway station. The incident, occurring on the night of March 31, 2026, was captured on station surveillance cameras and has since circulated widely online.

Footage shows the individual attempting to board the moving Bhopal–Indore Express at approximately 11:31 PM on Platform No. 6. As the train gained momentum, the man appeared to lose his footing while reaching for the door handle.

He subsequently slipped and fell into the narrow gap between the moving carriage and the platform edge. Witnesses reported that the victim was trapped and dragged for several meters as the train continued its departure from the station.

Railway officials stated the train was traveling at an estimated speed of 40 kilometers per hour during the fall. The man was seen spinning multiple times before disappearing beneath the moving cars, prompting an immediate response from security personnel.

Railway police and station staff reached the scene quickly to rescue the victim from the tracks. He was immediately transported to Hamidia Hospital, where medical professionals are working to stabilize his condition following the traumatic event.

Doctors at the facility confirmed the patient sustained a broken arm and significant head trauma. As of Friday afternoon, April 3, 2026, he remains in critical condition within the intensive care unit under close observation.

Authorities have yet to confirm the man's full identity as he was carrying limited documentation at the time of the mishap. He is estimated to be 25 years old and is believed to be a resident of Bihar.

The viral CCTV footage has sparked a renewed debate regarding passenger safety and the risks of boarding moving vehicles. Social media users expressed shock while highlighting the persistence of dangerous behavior at major transit hubs.

Indian Railways has issued frequent warnings regarding the dangers of boarding moving trains. Officials emphasize these actions often result in life-altering injuries despite nationwide safety awareness campaigns and improved station monitoring.

Efforts to locate the man’s family are currently underway as he remains under medical care. Investigators are reviewing station protocols to determine if additional safety measures are required to prevent similar accidents in the future.
