Bill Gates Set to Testify in House Oversight Investigation of Jeffrey Epstein

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates is officially scheduled to appear before the House Oversight Committee on June 10, 2026, for a transcribed interview.

The session is a central component of an ongoing, high-profile congressional investigation into the sex-trafficking network of Jeffrey Epstein and the subsequent federal response.

Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) confirmed the scheduling on Tuesday, noting that the committee had been in discussions with Gates’ representatives since early March.

Investigators intend to question the billionaire tech mogul extensively regarding the nature of his past relationship with Epstein and any specific knowledge he possessed concerning Epstein’s criminal enterprise.

Gates has previously characterized his association with Epstein as a “huge mistake,” while his legal team maintains he never witnessed or participated in any illegal activities.

A spokesperson for Gates stated Tuesday that he welcomes the opportunity to speak with the committee and intends to cooperate fully to support their objective work.

The House Oversight Committee is currently conducting the most comprehensive review yet of the Justice Department’s prior investigations and the circumstances of Epstein’s 2019 death.

This wide-ranging inquiry has already secured testimony from other influential global figures, including former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Gates is one of seven individuals recently summoned by the panel as lawmakers seek to uncover the full extent of Epstein’s long-standing influence among political and financial elites.

The committee is also preparing for a May 6 appearance by Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, as well as testimony from Epstein’s former executive assistant, Lesley Groff.

The investigation continues to move forward under the administration of President Donald Trump, who recently oversaw significant leadership changes within the Justice Department as these probes intensify.

Public interest in the upcoming closed-door proceedings remains exceptionally high, with social media discussions focusing on potential new disclosures regarding private travel and foundation ties.

While the committee holds the legal authority to issue subpoenas for non-compliant witnesses, officials confirmed that Gates is appearing for this session on a voluntary basis.

The June 10 session represents a pivotal milestone in the legislative effort to provide transparency into how the Epstein network operated without detection for decades.

Congressional aides suggest the interview will likely touch upon newly discovered email communications and previously unreleased flight records involving Epstein's private aircraft.
