Camarillo Police Hosting Massive Drug Take Back

If you have a medicine cabinet full of old, expired, or unwanted pills, the Camarillo Police Department wants you to dump them, no questions asked.

On Saturday, April 25, 2026, Camarillo is joining the DEA’s 30th National Prescription Drug Take Back Initiative.

From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., you can drive up to the station at 3701 East Las Posas Road and hand over your meds for secure and environmentally friendly destruction.

This isn't just about cleaning your house; it’s a critical public safety move to keep highly addictive drugs out of the wrong hands and prevent accidental poisonings.

The best part of the program is that it is completely anonymous, meaning you don't have to provide ID or explain where the medication came from.

You can drop off solid pills, patches, and even liquids like cough syrup—just ensure that any liquid containers are securely sealed in their original packaging.

However, there are strict limits: the station will NOT accept needles, syringes, sharps, or IV solutions due to biohazard risks.

Additionally, this event is exclusively for legal prescription and over-the-counter medications; do not bring illicit drugs like meth or marijuana.

By participating, you're helping to block the source of drugs for the 60% of teens who report getting them from home medicine cabinets.
