A viral crypto horror story unfolded when a young streamer accidentally revealed his Solana (SOL) wallet seed phrase during a live broadcast, losing around $100,000 in seconds.
Wearing a green hoodie, the streamer had his seed phrase visible in a plain-text notes app while switching tabs on his Phantom wallet.
For just a few seconds, the 12- or 24-word mnemonic flashed on camera, enough for OCR bots and fast-acting viewers to snatch it.
Within 30 seconds, the wallet was emptied, transactions visible in real time as SOL and associated tokens vanished.
Blockchain transfers are irreversible, and recovery is virtually impossible. No law enforcement or mainstream recovery efforts have been reported.
Crypto experts warn this is not an isolated event: bots scan streams 24/7, instantly importing wallets when seed phrases appear and sweeping the funds to anonymous addresses.
The clip quickly spread across X, TikTok, Instagram, Reddit (r/CryptoCurrency, r/solana), and YouTube Shorts, serving as a cautionary tale. Some versions exaggerate the loss to $2.5 million for virality, but credible sources confirm $100K.
