A Florida man has been arrested after police say a dispute at a gas station turned deadly when a woman was attacked with a hammer.

According to the Fort Myers Police Department, Rolbert Joachin, 40, was taken into custody and charged with homicide and property damage following the killing of Nilufar Yasmin, a 51-year-old mother of two.

Investigators say surveillance video allegedly showed Joachin damaging a vehicle outside the gas station in Fort Myers before Yasmin went outside to confront him. Police say he then allegedly attacked her with a hammer.

Authorities say the incident may have stemmed from an encounter the day before, when the suspect allegedly attempted to withdraw money from an ATM and demanded cash from Yasmin when the transaction failed.

She reportedly told him the store did not control the ATM.

Police launched a large manhunt following the attack, using K-9 units, aviation support, and patrol officers before locating and arresting the suspect hours later.

Joachin is currently being held without bond and is scheduled to return to court in May. The case remains under investigation.
