Horse Survives After Being Hit by Car in Uptown Charlotte

It is the miracle on North College Street.
A horse that was sent flying through the air after being struck by a vehicle in the heart of Uptown Charlotte has been confirmed alive and, incredibly, standing on all four legs.
The incident, which unfolded late at night on April 3, 2026, was captured in a series of viral videos that have left the internet stunned and local authorities fuming.
The chaos kicked off around 11:45 p.m. when two men were spotted riding horses down E. 7th Street.
According to witnesses, the riders were performing stunts and "showing off" for onlookers.
Witness Ja’Queria Lynch told reporters she saw one rider attempt to stand on the horse's back before losing his footing and tumbling to the pavement.
The spooked animal then bolted into traffic, where it collided with a passing car at the corner of N. College Street.
While the footage of the impact looked devastating, a second video surfaced shortly after showing the horse back on its feet.
City officials confirm that while riding horses is technically legal as a "mode of transportation" in North Carolina, the riders in this case crossed the line into criminal territory.
The aftermath was just as wild as the accident.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police reports indicate that the two riders, identified as Deven Moore and Desmon Moore, became "very irate" and began screaming in the street.
Both men allegedly resisted officers and were subsequently arrested. They now face charges of disorderly conduct and resisting a public officer.
For now, the horse appears to have dodged a literal bullet, surviving a high-speed collision that would have been fatal for most.
As the "Uptown Cowboys" head to court, the city is left wondering how a midnight trail ride turned into a viral traffic disaster.
