Texas Dad Shoots Carjacker Trying to Steal Car With Kids Inside

A terrifying scene in Garland, Texas ended in gunfire after a father fought back against a suspect who tried to steal his car while his children and family members were still inside.

Police say the chaos began Sunday afternoon along Highway 66, about 18 miles from downtown Dallas, when a driver crashed into multiple vehicles before fleeing the scene. Moments later, that same suspect allegedly ran into a nearby shopping center parking lot and began trying to take vehicles by force.

That’s when he approached a white car carrying a father, several children, and two adult women.

Police say the father then pulled out a firearm and fired more than 10 rounds, striking the suspect.
