It's the classic case of "see something, say something" actually working. A customer at the Moorpark TJ Maxx on Los Angeles Avenue didn’t just mind their business when they saw a woman walking out with a haul of unpaid items, they called the cops.

That one tip blew the doors off an organized retail theft ring that’s been bleeding stores dry across Ventura and L.A. Counties.

The Moorpark Investigations Unit teamed up with the Organized Retail Theft Task Force and quickly realized this wasn't just a random shoplifter.

This crew is allegedly responsible for an $8,000 hit on local retailers in April alone.

Detectives tracked them down to the 1500 block of Campus Park Drive, where a raid uncovered roughly $5,000 in stolen goods.

Three suspects, Kayla Myers, Marquise Marshall, and Darius King, are now sitting in the Ventura County Main Jail facing charges of organized retail theft and conspiracy.

A fourth suspect, Nijah Crenshaw, managed to slip away and is currently wanted on an active warrant.

It’s a win for our local shops, but a reminder that these professional crews are operating right in our backyard.
