SIMI VALLEY RIDER ARRESTED AFTER WILD SIDEWALK CHASE

This Simi Valley rider really thought he was in a high-octane thriller, but he was actually on a bike that barely hits his knees.
On April 11, 2026, a Simi Valley traffic officer spotted a man zipping a gas-powered pocket bike around the busy intersection of Sycamore Drive and Los Angeles Avenue.
Instead of pulling over for the traffic stop, the rider decided to "gun it," sparking a full-on police pursuit on a miniature toy motorcycle.
The rider went totally rogue during the chase, blowing through multiple stop signs and jumping onto sidewalks in a desperate attempt to lose the heat.
However, the Simi Valley Police Department (SVPD) wasn't having it, as officers coordinated to block his path and prevent any danger to pedestrians.
The pursuit finally came to a crashing halt at the entrance to Frontier Park, where officers cornered the rider and took him into custody.
The suspect, whose pocket bike was clearly not street-legal, was hauled off to jail on a felony evading charge.
His tiny bike has been officially sent to the impound lot, leaving the rider with a massive legal headache and a felony on his record.
While the 15 seconds of sidewalk fame might have seemed like a good idea at the time, he is now facing the serious reality of California’s strict evading laws.
Authorities are using this incident to remind the community that "pocket bikes" are classified as miniature vehicles and are strictly prohibited on all public streets and sidewalks.
