Woman Trying To Rob 7-11 Gets Sh*t By Police After Pointing Pellet G*n At Officers

The Los Angeles Police Department has made public body-worn camera footage from a fatal officer-involved shooting that occurred last month in Southeast Los Angeles. The incident, which took place on March 7, 2026, resulted in the death of 53-year-old Cynthia Anne Ivie Akers at a local 7-Eleven convenience store.

According to the official report, officers arrived at the scene following a radio call reporting a robbery in progress at the establishment. Upon entering the store, law enforcement personnel encountered Akers positioned behind the checkout counter. She was accompanied by her dog at the time of the confrontation.

The newly released video captures the moments officers issued several verbal commands to Akers, who reportedly refused to comply with the instructions. The footage provides multiple angles of the store's interior, showing the tense atmosphere as customers had already fled the premises.

During the standoff, investigators state that Akers reached into a bag and produced what appeared to be a black handgun. Footage shows the suspect pointing the weapon directly at the responding officers while standing in the confined area behind the register.

In response to the perceived lethal threat, the officers discharged their service weapons. Akers was struck by the gunfire and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical responders shortly after the encounter concluded.

A post-incident investigation revealed that the weapon Akers brandished was actually a pellet gun, rather than a functional firearm. The recovery of the pellet gun at the scene was confirmed by the LAPD’s Force Investigation Division, which oversees all use-of-force incidents.

The dog present during the incident was not harmed in the exchange and was subsequently turned over to animal control services for processing. The 7-Eleven remained closed for several hours as forensic teams processed the evidence and collected statements from witnesses.

Under the administration of President Donald Trump, the Department of Justice has maintained a focus on supporting local law enforcement procedures regarding the use of force in high-stakes robbery scenarios. This federal emphasis aligns with local efforts to ensure officer safety during volatile encounters.

The LAPD’s Critical Incident Video Release is part of the department's standard policy to provide transparency within 45 days of a lethal force encounter. The investigation remains ongoing as reviewers evaluate the incident's compliance with state law and departmental training standards.
