A 19-year-old Anaheim man has been arrested after authorities said reckless driving led to a crash on the 10 Freeway in Los Angeles that left another driver with major injuries.
The suspect was identified as Noor El Deen Amr Soror, 19, of Anaheim.
The crash happened April 19 on the eastbound 10 Freeway near La Brea Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Following a months-long investigation, Soror was located and arrested on Aug. 25 on suspicion of felony reckless driving causing major injuries.
What Happened
California Highway Patrol officers were called to the eastbound 10 Freeway near La Brea Avenue on April 19 following a reported crash.
Authorities determined that Soror was allegedly driving recklessly before crashing into another vehicle.
The collision left the other driver with major injuries, according to the CHP.
Investigators did not immediately release details about the specific reckless-driving behavior that preceded the crash.
The victim's identity was also not released.
Suspect Arrested Months Later
The crash remained under investigation after the April incident.
On Aug. 25, CHP investigators located Soror and arrested him in connection with the collision.
He was arrested on suspicion of felony reckless driving causing major injuries.
The arrest came more than four months after the original crash as investigators continued working to identify and locate the person they believed was responsible.
What CHP Is Saying
CHP Central Los Angeles Captain Martin Geller used the arrest to emphasize the consequences of dangerous driving.
“This incident is another reminder that reckless driving is not only dangerous, it can have devastating and life-changing consequences,” Geller said.
He also warned that “Speeding, unsafe maneuvers, and other reckless behavior behind the wheel put everyone on the roadway at risk.”
Geller urged drivers to slow down and make responsible decisions while behind the wheel.
“Your choices behind the wheel matter,” he said.
The CHP's message comes as investigators continue emphasizing the dangers of reckless behavior on busy Southern California freeways.
The Investigation
Authorities have not released many additional details about the crash.
The exact circumstances leading up to the collision, including the specific driving maneuvers investigators believe Soror made, have not been publicly detailed.
Officials also have not identified the injured driver or provided an update on the person's condition beyond the initial report of major injuries.
The case remains based on allegations, and an arrest does not by itself establish guilt.
A Reminder About Freeway Safety
The CHP said the incident illustrates how quickly reckless driving can have serious consequences.
High-speed freeways such as the 10 can carry heavy traffic, meaning sudden or unsafe maneuvers can put multiple motorists at risk.
Investigators say drivers should avoid speeding and dangerous driving behavior and remain aware of surrounding traffic.
Even a brief period of reckless driving can result in a collision with potentially life-changing consequences.
What We Still Don't Know
- The victim's identity, which has not been released.
- The victim's current condition following the major injuries.
- The specific reckless-driving behavior investigators say led to the crash.

For now, Soror has been arrested on suspicion of felony reckless driving causing major injuries, while authorities have not released further details about the victim or the circumstances surrounding the crash.
