Bill Clinton Defiant as Epstein Photos Resurface Ahead of House Deposition

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Former President Bill Clinton forcefully denied any wrongdoing Friday as newly released photos from the Epstein files resurfaced ahead of his deposition before the House Oversight Committee.

Clinton, who posted a two-page opening statement before testifying, insisted he “saw nothing” and “did nothing wrong,” despite images showing him at social events with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. The former president described his relationship with Epstein as a “brief acquaintance” that ended years before Epstein’s crimes became public.

The deposition follows months of political tension as Republicans on the committee pressed both Bill and Hillary Clinton to testify.

The Photos: Renewed Scrutiny

Recently released Justice Department files included multiple photographs of Clinton in social settings linked to Epstein.

  • The images show Clinton at events alongside Epstein and Maxwell.
  • Some photos depict Clinton in casual environments, including a pool and hot tub.-Other images include high-profile figures at gatherings attended by Epstein.

Republican lawmakers said the images warranted direct questioning under oath.

Clinton’s Defense: “I Saw Nothing”

In his written statement and testimony, Clinton maintained he had no knowledge of Epstein’s criminal conduct.

“I saw nothing, and I did nothing wrong,” Clinton said.

“Even with 20/20 hindsight, I saw nothing that gave me pause.”

He added that he never visited Epstein’s private island and that any travel reflected in flight logs was tied to work for the Clinton Foundation.

Political Clash on Capitol Hill

House Oversight Chairman James Comer indicated lawmakers would question Clinton about the photos and Epstein’s ties to the Clinton Foundation.

Clinton criticized the focus on what he called “20-year-old photos” and objected to his wife being subpoenaed.

“You made Hillary come in. She had nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein,” he said in his opening remarks.

After months of dispute, both Clintons agreed to testify as the House moved toward contempt proceedings.

The History: Clinton and Epstein

Clinton and Epstein were photographed together during the 1990s and early 2000s.

  • Epstein donated to Clinton’s presidential campaign.
  • He appeared at White House events during Clinton’s presidency.
  • Clinton traveled internationally on Epstein’s private jet for foundation work.

Clinton’s office previously stated he had not spoken to Epstein in “well over a decade” before Epstein’s 2019 death.

What Comes Next

The Oversight Committee’s investigation remains ongoing.

  • Republicans say further document review is expected.
  • Democrats have accused the inquiry of partisan motives.
  • Clinton continues to deny any knowledge of criminal activity.

The deposition marks another chapter in the continuing fallout from Epstein’s high-profile network of associations.
