Bodycam Footage Captures Massive Florida Drug Bust Following 100 MPH High-Speed Chase

Freshly released bodycam footage from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has detailed the March 22, 2026, arrest of a 28-year-old suspect following a reckless high-speed pursuit on a rural Florida road.

Mario Mena Hernandez was taken into custody after deputies clocked his silver minivan traveling at speeds exceeding 100 mph.

The pursuit concluded at a local gas station, where deputies utilized translation software to communicate with Hernandez, who was operating the vehicle without a valid driver’s license.

The 82-second video highlights the tactical search of the vehicle, which yielded a significant haul of contraband and currency. Law enforcement discovered approximately $10,000 in bundled and loose cash alongside multiple baggies containing cocaine and methamphetamine.

Also visible in the footage was a full 24-pack of Modelo beer stored in the cabin. The calm demeanor of the suspect throughout the felony stop has drawn significant attention online, as the footage quickly circulated across social media platforms following its release on March 25.

Hernandez now faces a string of serious charges, including reckless driving and possession of controlled substances with intent to sell or distribute.

Hillsborough County officials noted that the successful interception of the vehicle prevented potential casualties on the rural stretch of highway where the speeding occurred.

The case has become a primary example of "caught red-handed" law enforcement content, racking up millions of views as digital audiences react to the brazen nature of the transport.

While the investigation into the origin of the $10,000 remains active, the Sheriff’s Office has used the incident to reiterate its zero-tolerance policy for high-speed endangerment and narcotics trafficking. Hernandez remains in custody pending his initial court appearance.

As of March 26, no legal representative has issued a statement on his behalf, and the video continues to serve as a stark visual record of the intersection between traffic enforcement and major narcotics interdiction in the state of Florida.
