Bombs fall near Beirut just as a historic peace deal was within reach.

President Trump warns that new strikes in Lebanon could "blow" a coming agreement with Iran.

Just as the world started to hope for a quiet end to a long war, new bombs are falling in the Middle East.

WHAT HAPPENED

On Sunday, the Israeli army hit targets near Beirut. This came after three rockets were fired into northern Israel from Lebanon.

President Trump is not happy about the timing. He says these strikes might stop a peace deal with Iran that was almost finished.

Trump told all sides to stop the fighting. He does not want anything to delay the big agreement.

WHAT THE EVIDENCE SHOWS

3 rockets were fired from Lebanon into Israel.

  • Israeli jets hit targets near Beirut in response.
  • A peace deal with Iran was almost ready to sign.
  • President Trump says the strikes could ruin the deal.
  • Senate leaders say Israel is just defending its borders.

THE BIGGER QUESTION

Why would either side risk a huge peace deal for a small fight? It makes you wonder if some leaders actually want the war to end.

We should ask if these rockets were fired on purpose to stop the peace deal from happening. If so, the plan might be working.

THE OTHER SIDE

Israel and its friends in the US say the country must hit back. They believe you cannot have peace while rockets are falling on your homes.

This argument is strong because most people agree that a country must protect its own people.

WHAT HAPPENS NOW

Leaders are working fast to save the deal. If they fail, the chance for a long peace might be gone for years.

This could lead to more fighting that pulls in more countries. For regular people, this means more fear and higher prices for things like gas.

WHAT WE STILL DON'T KNOW

  1. Will Iran use these strikes as a reason to walk away from the deal?
  2. How much damage did the strikes near Beirut actually do?
  3. Did the group that fired the rockets want to stop the peace deal on purpose?
