Couple Charged After Drawing Swastikas And Throwing Feces At GOP Office And Charlie Kirk Poster

Police in Arlington Heights, Illinois, have identified and charged two individuals in connection with the vandalism of a local political office earlier this week. Brock McNerney, 72, and Moisette McNerney, 69, face misdemeanor charges of criminal damage to property and defacement of property following an incident on March 23, 2026.
Surveillance footage released by authorities reportedly captures the couple targeting the Republicans of Wheeling Township headquarters. The footage shows the suspects allegedly applying Nazi symbols, profanity, and biological waste to the exterior of the building.
An image of political commentator Charlie Kirk displayed at the office was among the items specifically defaced during the Monday evening incident. This marks the second time the Wheeling Township office has been targeted by vandals since December 2025.
According to the Arlington Heights Police Department, the McNerneys were taken into custody following an investigation into the video evidence. Both individuals were processed and released on their own recognizance pending a future court appearance in Cook County.
Leaders of the Republicans of Wheeling Township expressed disappointment in the escalation of political tensions. GOP officials emphasized that political differences should be settled through civil discourse rather than criminal activity or destruction of property.
The incident occurs amidst a heightened political climate as President Donald Trump continues his current term in the White House. Local residents have expressed concern over the nature of the vandalism, particularly the use of hate symbols in a public space.
While charges have been filed, police continue to review surveillance from the surrounding area to ensure no other parties were involved in the disturbance. The township office serves as a primary hub for local political activity and is currently undergoing repairs to remove the damage.
The Arlington Heights Police Department has not yet commented on a potential motive beyond the evidence captured in the footage. Legal proceedings for the McNerneys are expected to begin within the next month as the investigation concludes.
