Dave Coulier Urges Early Cancer Screening After Battling Two Diagnoses

Full House star Dave Coulier is urging fans to prioritize their health after successfully battling two different forms of cancer in less than two years. The actor recently announced he is in remission from both Stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma and early-stage tongue cancer.

Coulier’s health journey began in late 2024 when he was diagnosed with an aggressive blood cancer that required intensive chemotherapy. Just as he celebrated remission from lymphoma, a routine follow-up PET scan revealed a separate, unrelated carcinoma at the base of his tongue.

Doctors identified the second diagnosis as p16 squamous cell carcinoma, which is often linked to the human papillomavirus. Because the lesion was detected early through his ongoing cancer monitoring, it was highly treatable with surgery and radiation.

The comedian credits his survival to the vigilance required by his first diagnosis, noting that the follow-up scan likely saved his life. He is now using his platform to encourage others to undergo preventative screenings like mammograms and prostate exams without delay.

Coulier emphasized that early detection can significantly alter the prognosis for aggressive diseases that might otherwise go unnoticed. He admitted that while the experience was a rollercoaster, it gave him a profound appreciation for the medical care that caught both conditions in time.

Inspired by his treatment and a desire for cleaner living, Coulier has also launched a new venture called AWEAR Market. This online marketplace focuses on non-toxic and sustainable products, ranging from clothing to personal care items.

The project aims to help consumers make healthier choices by curating goods that are free from harmful chemicals often found in everyday essentials. Coulier hopes that by raising awareness about environmental toxins, he can help others reduce their potential cancer risks.

He has partnered with the V Foundation for Cancer Research to ensure that a portion of proceeds from his market supports scientific advancements. This collaboration highlights his commitment to not only raising awareness but also funding the fight for a cure.

Now cancer-free, the actor is eager to return to his normal life while continuing to advocate for cancer research and patient support. His story serves as a powerful reminder that proactive medical care and listening to one's body are vital tools in the fight against serious illness.
