Dentist's Office Rocked: Employee Arrested for Stealing $87,000

An employee at a local dental office in Oxnard is now facing major charges after she was arrested for allegedly stealing a huge amount of money from her employer over a year. Stephanie Gonzales, a 35-year-old Oxnard resident, was taken into custody after an investigation proved that she had been embezzling funds.
🕵️ The Internal Discovery
The whole messy situation started on October 3, 2025. An officer from the Oxnard Police Department was called out to Rose Dental Group on South Rose Avenue. The practice owner had serious concerns that one of their employees was stealing money.
The dental office had already done their own internal investigation. They figured out that Stephanie Gonzales was the main suspect behind the missing money. They filed an initial police report, and the case was immediately handed over to the Oxnard Police Department’s Property Crimes Unit, or PCU, to be handled by a specialist in Financial Fraud.
💰 Following the Money Trail
The PCU Financial Fraud Investigator went to work right away. They teamed up closely with the owner of Rose Dental Group. This meant digging deep into a massive amount of financial records and documents, which is never an easy job.
After reviewing everything, the investigator confirmed the worst fears of the dental practice. They determined that over the course of the previous year, approximately $87,000 had been wrongly taken from the business. That is a gigantic amount of money to disappear from any local business, especially a dentist's office. This kind of theft is known as felony grand theft from an employer.
🚨 The Arrest
After all the evidence was gathered and the theft was confirmed, investigators from the Oxnard Police Department’s Property Crimes Unit made their move. On December 4, 2025, Stephanie Gonzales was arrested. She was booked on suspicion of felony grand theft from an employer.
The Oxnard Police Department is now letting everyone know that their Property Crimes Unit is totally dedicated to cutting down on fraud in the City of Oxnard. They plan to do this by strictly enforcing the laws. This case is a harsh warning to any employee who thinks they can quietly siphon money from their job without getting caught. The $87,000 in missing funds will be a major blow to the dental office, which now has to deal with the financial and legal fallout.
