Erika Kirk Files Legal Action Against Online Commentators Over Assassination and Epstein Claims

Erika Kirk, CEO of Turning Point USA, has moved to curb viral conspiracy theories by initiating legal action against several online detractors.
The widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk issued cease-and-desist orders targeting individuals who alleged her involvement in her husband’s 2025 assassination.
Among those named is Collin Scott Campbell, the Maryland-based head of Project Constitution, who suggested Kirk played a role in the fatal shooting.
The legal documentation, signed by attorney Paul Edgard Harold, describes the accusations as "false and defamatory" and intended to cause "tremendous damage."
Kirk is also challenging claims linking her to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s trafficking network.
Detractors recently circulated a "leaked DOJ wiretap audio" alleging Kirk’s voice was heard arranging meetings for Epstein, a claim her legal team has debunked.
Investigative reports and DOJ records indicate the voice in the recording actually belongs to Haley Robson, a confirmed Epstein associate.
At the time of the recording, Kirk was reportedly still a high school student, making her participation in the events described chronologically impossible.
The legal outreach also includes video podcaster Zach De Gregorio and former Turning Point USA associate Candace Owens.
Owens has publicly questioned Kirk’s background and suggested connections to Epstein's New York operations, creating a divide among conservative commentators.
The filings come as Kirk continues to lead Turning Point USA following the death of her husband, who was killed in Utah last September.
President Donald Trump recently appointed Kirk to the Air Force Academy Board of Visitors, reinforcing her standing within the administration.
Vice President JD Vance has maintained a visible alliance with Kirk, even escorting her husband’s body back to Phoenix following the tragedy.
Despite the legal warnings, some named individuals indicated they do not intend to comply, claiming their statements are protected speech.
Kirk has consistently denied all allegations, characterizing the online campaign as a malicious effort to undermine her leadership and family.
This battle highlights intensifying scrutiny surrounding the leadership transition at one of the nation’s largest conservative organizations.
