Eugene Mirman Hospitalized After Fiery New Hampshire Toll Plaza Crash

Actor and comedian Eugene Mirman remains hospitalized in Manchester, New Hampshire, following a serious motor vehicle accident at the Bedford Toll Plaza on Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:55 a.m. on the F.E. Everett Turnpike. Mirman, 51, was operating a 2026 Lucid Gravity electric SUV when he collided directly with a concrete toll booth.

Witnesses reported that the vehicle burst into flames upon impact, leaving the voice actor trapped inside the cabin. A New Hampshire State Trooper, traveling as part of Governor Kelley Ayotte’s security detail, witnessed the collision and immediately responded to the scene.

The trooper, along with several bystanders, successfully extracted Mirman through the vehicle's window as the fire intensified. Emergency medical personnel arrived shortly thereafter to provide stabilization at the site of the wreckage.

Mirman was transported by ambulance to Elliot Hospital. Medical officials described his injuries as serious but confirmed they are not considered life-threatening at this time.

Footage shared on social media platforms early Wednesday morning shows the charred remains of the luxury electric SUV at the toll plaza. The video highlights the extensive front-end damage and the scorched frame resulting from the post-crash fire.

Because the news broke on April 1, some social media users initially questioned the authenticity of the report. However, New Hampshire State Police and representatives for the actor have since confirmed the details of the crash are accurate.

Mirman is widely recognized for his voice work as Gene Belcher on the long-running animated series "Bob’s Burgers." He is also a prominent figure in the stand-up comedy circuit and has appeared in numerous television programs.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation by local authorities. No other injuries were reported among toll plaza employees or the individuals who assisted in the rescue.

Governor Kelley Ayotte's office confirmed that members of her security detail assisted at the scene but has not issued further comment regarding the accident.
