Florida Man Attempts To Hijack Planes To Visit His Sister

A 58-year-old Florida man is facing a series of serious federal and state charges after authorities say he breached airport security and attempted to hijack multiple aircraft earlier this week.

The alarming incident occurred on Wednesday, March 25, at Daytona Beach International Airport.

According to an FBI affidavit, Bryan John Parker drove a blue Ford Mustang through a locked perimeter fence.

Once inside the restricted area, he drove onto an active runway.

Witnesses and security footage show Parker exited his vehicle and ran across the taxiway.

During the incursion, he was observed urinating on the airfield surfaces.

The affidavit states Parker "chased after aircraft which were occupied and taxiing with their propellers in motion."

He successfully climbed aboard two unoccupied small aircraft on the tarmac.

Parker then forced his way into a third aircraft with its engine running.

He reportedly commanded the pilot to "go, go, go" in an attempt to depart.

Security personnel from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University flight school detained Parker.

He was subsequently arrested by deputies from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.

Body-cam footage shows Parker explaining the events to arresting officers.

He claimed he attended an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting before consuming alcohol, cocaine, and marijuana.

Parker informed FBI agents that his goal was to fly an aircraft to Sanibel, Florida, to visit his sister.

Sanibel is located approximately 300 miles from Daytona Beach.

Parker had no flight plan or authorization to be on the airfield.

He remains in the Volusia County Branch Jail facing multiple serious felony counts.

Charges include attempted aircraft piracy, burglary of a conveyance, and felony trespass.

He also faces two counts of exposure of sexual organs for his conduct on the taxiway.
