"Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die" Sci-Fi Satire Now Streaming on Prime

Universal Studios and Constantin Film officially released the highly anticipated sci-fi action-comedy, Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die, in theaters on Friday, February 13, 2026. After a successful domestic run, the film transitioned to digital streaming and VOD platforms on March 10, 2026, where it is currently trending.

Directed by Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean), the "maximalist fable" follows a mysterious man from the future who bursts into an iconic Los Angeles diner to recruit a hodgepodge band of reluctant patrons. He claims they are the only ones capable of helping him combat a rogue artificial intelligence and the impending "social media brainrot" apocalypse.

Sam Rockwell stars as the unnamed traveler, delivering a performance described as equal parts "manic energy and bruised vulnerability." He reveals to the terrified diners that he is currently on his "117th attempt" to find the right combination of heroes to save humanity from a technological collapse triggered by a young boy.

As the "timey-wimey" adventure unfolds, Rockwell is joined by an ensemble cast including Haley Lu Richardson as Ingrid, Michael Peña and Zazie Beetz as school teachers Mark and Janet, and Juno Temple. Together, they must battle "phone-addicted teenagers" and navigate a world where augmented reality and AI have rendered humans into "hive mind zombies."

Director Gore Verbinski, returning to the big screen after a decade, emphasized the film's intent to tackle contemporary anxieties. “It’s a scream of panic disguised as a joke,” Verbinski stated during a recent press event. “We wanted to create a bold, strange film that dares to tap dance along the razor line between humanism and nihilism.”

Screenwriter Matthew Robinson echoed this sentiment, describing the script as a "treatise on putting down the damn phone." Critical reception has been largely positive, with the film holding a 83% Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. While some critics found the 134-minute runtime "wayward" in its third act, most praised the "kinetic action set pieces" and Rockwell's "unrivaled master of oddball quirkiness."

Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die is currently playing in select theaters and is available for digital purchase and rental on platforms like Amazon Prime, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home. The film’s "punk-infused" energy and "Rube Goldberg" motion have solidified its status as a standout original sci-fi entry for 2026.
