Kwan Trezvant Stabs Jamie Trumpp While Out on $5,000 Bond for Another Crime

Prosecutors in Johnson County have charged a 27-year-old man with attempted first-degree murder following a violent incident at an Olathe park. Kwan Noble Trezvant was taken into custody after allegedly attacking a woman at Two Trails Park on Thursday.

The victim, identified in court documents as 38-year-old Jamie Trumpp, was reportedly stabbed in the face around noon. Authorities described the assault as completely unprovoked.

Trumpp was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment immediately following the attack. Law enforcement officials confirmed on Friday that she is expected to survive her injuries.

Trumpp is a prominent member of the Olathe community, serving as a choir teacher at Indian Trail Middle School. She is also the wife of Matt Trumpp, the head soccer coach at Olathe West High School.

In response to the incident, community members have organized a fundraiser to support the family during her recovery. The outreach highlights the victim’s active role within the local school district.

Legal filings define attempted first-degree murder as the intentional and premeditated attempt to kill a human being. Trezvant is currently being held at the Johnson County jail on a $500,000 bond.

The suspect made a scheduled court appearance on Friday afternoon to address the charges. This case marks Trezvant's second significant legal encounter within the current calendar year.

Records indicate that Trezvant pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery of a law enforcement officer in August 2024. For that offense, he was sentenced to nearly four months in jail.

His criminal history also includes 2020 convictions for obstructing the legal process and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released in that instance on time served according to public records.

Local media outlets have requested further court documents to clarify the specific details of the park attack. Police have not yet identified a motive for the stabbing as the investigation remains active.

The incident has prompted discussions regarding safety in public spaces within the region. Local officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the midday assault at Two Trails Park.
