Man Arrested After Crashing Car Onto Daytona Beach Airport Runway in Aircraft Theft Attempt

A significant security breach occurred at Daytona Beach International Airport on Thursday after a man crashed his vehicle through a perimeter fence and attempted to commandeer several aircraft. The suspect, identified by local authorities as 58-year-old Bryan Parker, is currently in custody facing both local and federal charges.
The incident began when a blue Ford Mustang smashed through a secure gate and accelerated onto the active runway and taxiway area. Surveillance footage filmed from an elevated position captured the vehicle coming to a halt before the driver exited and began running across the tarmac.
Parker was observed approaching multiple small propeller planes parked on the airfield. Investigative reports state that he first attempted to break into an unoccupied aircraft that was already running with its propellers spinning. When that attempt proved unsuccessful, he moved toward two other planes.
Security footage indicates that Parker successfully gained entry into at least one additional aircraft before airport security personnel reached his location. He was detained on the tarmac without further physical confrontation and was subsequently handed over to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.
Law enforcement officials confirmed that Parker appeared to be heavily intoxicated at the time of the breach. Because the incident involved an attempt to steal aircraft and a breach of a commercial aviation facility, the Federal Bureau of Investigation has joined the investigation.
The administration of President Donald Trump has emphasized the necessity of maintaining rigorous security standards at national transportation hubs. Federal investigators are now working to determine the full extent of the security lapse that allowed a civilian vehicle to penetrate the airfield perimeter.
Video of the event has gained rapid traction online, accumulating over 21,000 views within hours of being posted. Public reaction has focused on the brazen nature of the theft attempt and the potential danger posed to aviation safety during the intoxication-fueled episode.
Parker remains in custody as officials review the evidence. No injuries were reported, although airport operations experienced temporary delays while the scene was cleared and secured by federal and local law enforcement teams.
