The response drew swift water rescue teams, helicopters, and ground crews, according to the alert's resource list. The department's public information contact for the incident was Lyndsey Lantz.
The rescues came as storm runoff continued moving through Los Angeles channels and washes. Fast-moving water can be dangerous even where it looks shallow, and residents should stay clear of channels during and after storms and call 911 in an emergency.
