Nursing Assistant Arraigned for Sexual Abuse of Dependent Adults

Kayode Agbolade Ogunba, a 61-year-old certified nursing assistant from Los Angeles, was arraigned on January 22, 2026, following his arrest for the alleged sexual abuse of patients at a Goleta care facility.

The investigation into Ogunba began in early November 2025 after a facility on South Patterson Road reported that two dependent female patients had been sexually assaulted.

Ogunba, who is known to go by the professional name "Kay," pleaded not guilty to multiple felony charges, including two counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object and two counts of lewd acts on a dependent adult by force.

The Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office has also included special allegations in the complaint, citing that the victims were particularly vulnerable and that Ogunba took advantage of a position of trust to commit the crimes.

Law enforcement officials believe this case may have a much wider scope.

Detectives have uncovered similar allegations involving Ogunba in the Los Angeles area and suspect he may have worked as a nursing assistant in Texas and Washington within the last seven years.

Authorities are currently releasing his booking photo in hopes that other potential victims will come forward to assist with the ongoing multi-state investigation.
