According to an official incident release issued by the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, task force detectives initiated an investigation following a series of organized retail thefts targeting regional Ulta Beauty storefronts.
Investigators tracked the suspect network to Newbury Park, where task force detectives located and contacted the four individuals.
During a subsequent search of the suspects' vehicles, detectives uncovered nearly 100 stolen bottles of high-end men's cologne and women's perfume.
Store managers and loss prevention personnel positively identified the entire haul as merchandise stolen directly from regional Ulta Beauty locations. Law enforcement officers estimated the total retail value of the seized fragrances at more than $16,000.
Jail Booking Status, Bail, and Ongoing Task Force Operations
All four suspects were taken into custody and transported to the Ventura County Main Jail in Ventura, where they were booked on felony charges of conspiracy to commit organized retail theft.
Following booking, each suspect posted $20,000 bail and was released from custody pending formal court arraignments scheduled for next month. Task force investigators noted that additional felony charges may be filed as detectives review security footage from other retail locations.
