THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — A 55-year-old driver was killed early Wednesday morning after his security patrol vehicle left the roadway and collided with a tree along Westlake Boulevard in Thousand Oaks, public safety officials announced.
The victim was identified by law enforcement authorities as Anthony Whiteside, a resident of Sherman Oaks.
According to official incident reports published by the Ventura County Sheriff's Office Nixle alert system, patrol deputies assigned to the Thousand Oaks Police Department responded to reports of a severe single-vehicle traffic collision near the intersection of Westlake Boulevard and Cascade Avenue at approximately 4:23 a.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.
