SIMI VALLEY, Calif. — A public dispute between a local small business owner and a dissatisfied customer has sparked widespread online debate after security camera footage capturing an intense in-store confrontation was released publicly by store management.
The incident occurred at Cosmopawlitan, a family-owned dog grooming salon operating physical storefronts in Simi Valley and Thousand Oaks.
Management stated they made the decision to publish the raw security recording after the customer posted negative public reviews criticizing the staff, demanding full financial refunds for prior appointments, and generating online backlash against the business.
In-Store Confrontation, Video Release, and Online Backlash
According to business representatives, the dispute escalated when a regular client—identified by store owners as Lana Khachaturov, owner of Canoga Park floral shop Floral Passion—entered the facility to air grievances regarding grooming services.
Store security cameras captured the interaction, documenting verbal exchanges between Khachaturov, salon employees, and her pet. Management alleged that the customer displayed aggressive conduct toward salon staff while handling her animal inside the lobby area.
Following the initial encounter, Khachaturov demanded complete refunds for all previous grooming sessions and took to social media platforms to post her account of the interaction, advising local pet owners against patronizing the family business.
Fearing severe reputational damage to their local brand, the owners of Cosmopawlitan uploaded the unedited lobby surveillance footage to social media platforms and video-sharing sites to allow the public to view the entire uninterrupted exchange.
The full security video, uploaded via YouTube under the title "Lana Khachaturov owner of Floral Passion Canoga Park mistreats employees and own dog," can be viewed directly above or accessed at Cosmopawlitan Security Footage Release.
"After seeing our reputation attacked, we felt we had no choice but to share the footage so the public could see what happened and make their own judgments," salon representatives stated in a public outreach message. "Is this acceptable behavior in today's society, and how far should a customer be allowed to go when they're unhappy with a service?"
