Simi Valley Resident Speaks Out in Support of ICE and Border Officers

The debate over immigration enforcement in Simi Valley took a sharp turn during a recent City Council meeting. A local mother and first generation American citizen stood before the council to voice her strong support for the work done by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Her comments offered a direct contrast to the residents who have spent months demanding that the city cut all ties with federal immigration agencies.

🛡️ Supporting the Safety of Officers

The resident identified herself as the mother of a Border Patrol officer and argued that federal agents should be honored for their work. She specifically defended the right of agents to wear masks and protect their identities while performing their duties. She noted that these officers have families and should be supported by local officials rather than being ousted or doxed by the public. For her the safety of those upholding the law is a top priority that the city should acknowledge.

📜 Legal Migration and the Rule of Law

During her speech she highlighted her own family’s history of coming to the United States legally from Mexico. She emphasized that her relatives went through the proper channels and that she believes the primary focus should be on ensuring people come here legally. In her view those who enter the country without following the rules are essentially cutting ahead of the line which she finds unfair to those who wait for their turn.

She acknowledged that deportation is a difficult reality but stated that it is a natural possibility for anyone who chooses to enter the country illegally. She also raised serious concerns about the foster care system and reports of missing children. She questioned why there is support for illegal migration when so many children have been lost in the shuffle of recent arrivals.

🤝 A Call for Law and Order

The resident concluded by urging the council to uphold the laws they are required to follow. She reiterated her support for the military and police officers who maintain order in the community. Her testimony served as a reminder that there are diverse viewpoints in Ventura County regarding how immigration should be handled. While many continue to push for more immigrant protections others are standing firm in their belief that the rule of law must be the guiding force for Simi Valley.
