Teen Accused of Setting Park Bathroom on Fire in Port Hueneme

Authorities are investigating a suspected arson incident involving a teenage boy in Port Hueneme, where a public restroom was set ablaze, causing damage to city property. The event has raised concerns over youth behavior and the safety of public spaces.

The fire was reported just before 5:30 p.m. on December 4 at Walter B. Moranda Park, a popular recreational area located on the 200 block of Moranda Parkway. The park serves as a gathering spot for families, sports teams, and community events.

Police responded to reports of smoke and flames coming from a park restroom. When officers arrived, they found that a fire had caused moderate damage to the interior of the bathroom. The suspect had already fled the scene.

Following an investigation by the Port Hueneme Police Department, detectives identified the arson suspect as a male juvenile resident of Port Hueneme. Due to his age, the teen’s name and further details have not been publicly released.
