Thieves Steal Dirt Bikes and ATV in Simi Valley Storage Facility Heist

The Simi Valley Police Department is currently investigating a daring commercial burglary that targeted a local storage facility over the weekend. On Sunday December 14 at approximately 5 17 p.m. officers responded to the 2100 block of First Street after receiving a radio call about a break in. The suspects managed to make off with several expensive off road vehicles before the crime was discovered.

✂️ Nighttime Breach of the Perimeter

A preliminary investigation by Simi Valley officers revealed that the burglary likely occurred during the dark hours of Saturday night. The group of suspects which is believed to include four or five individuals gained access to the property by cutting through the perimeter fence. This allowed them to enter the facility undetected by the main gate security.

Once they were inside the fence the thieves went to work on the individual units. They used force to break into several storage lockers and a toy hauler trailer parked on the lot. The precision and speed of the operation suggest that the suspects may have known exactly what they were looking for before they even arrived at the facility.

💨 High Value Off Road Vehicles Gone

The victims of the burglary are facing significant financial losses following the heist. At this time the police have confirmed that the suspects stole three off road motorcycles and one ATV. These types of vehicles are highly sought after on the secondary market which makes them a frequent target for organized theft rings.

Officers are currently canvassing the area for any surveillance footage that might show the suspects or the vehicle they used to haul away the stolen motorcycles. Because of the size and number of the items taken it is almost certain that the group was using a large truck or a trailer to transport the stolen goods away from the First Street location.

🛡️ Ongoing Investigation and Public Appeal

The Simi Valley Police Department is treating this as an ongoing investigation and is asking for help from the community. If anyone was in the area of the 2100 block of First Street on the night of December 13 and saw suspicious activity they are encouraged to contact the department. Even small details about a strange vehicle or people loitering near the fence could be the break that detectives need to solve the case.

This incident serves as a reminder for storage unit renters to check on their belongings regularly and ensure they are using high quality locks. As the holiday season continues police are increasing patrols near commercial centers and storage hubs to prevent similar crimes from happening. If you have any information about the whereabouts of the three dirt bikes or the stolen ATV you can reach out to the Simi Valley Police Department directly at their main headquarters on Alamo Street.
