President Trump Threatens to "Knock Out" Iranian Infrastructure After Ceasefire Breach

President Donald Trump on Sunday accused the Iranian government of a "total violation" of the current ceasefire following reports of gunfire in the Strait of Hormuz. The President’s remarks came after several vessels were targeted in the strategically vital waterway, reigniting fears of a full-scale regional conflict.

In a series of statements from the White House, Trump warned that the United States is prepared to launch a massive military offensive against Iranian infrastructure. He explicitly stated that American forces would "knock out every single power plant and bridge" across the country if the aggression does not cease immediately.

The President specifically claimed that Iranian forces opened fire on French and British vessels attempting to navigate the strait. These attacks represent a significant escalation that threatens to dismantle the fragile peace agreement brokered earlier this month.

Despite the rising tensions, U.S. negotiators are still scheduled to resume diplomatic talks in Islamabad on Monday. The delegation aims to salvage the two-week truce, which is currently set to expire this coming Wednesday.

High-level officials including Vice President JD Vance and special envoy Steve Witkoff are expected to lead the American team in Pakistan. They will be joined by Jared Kushner as they attempt to navigate a path toward a more permanent resolution.

Iranian state media has reportedly rejected the prospect of new negotiations, citing Washington’s "excessive demands" and the ongoing naval blockade. This defiance has led to a sharp spike in global oil prices as investors brace for potential disruptions to energy supplies.

Military analysts warn that a strike on Iran’s power grid and transportation networks would have catastrophic consequences for the nation’s civilian population. However, the Trump administration maintains that such measures are necessary to ensure the safety of international shipping lanes.

The Strait of Hormuz remains a primary flashpoint, with roughly one-fifth of the world’s oil passing through the narrow passage every day. Any prolonged closure or military engagement in the area could trigger unprecedented economic instability across the globe.

President Trump concluded his warning by emphasizing that the era of strategic patience with Tehran has come to an end. He reiterated that the United States will use all available force to protect its allies and maintain maritime security.
