Two Arrested for Attempted Murder Following Oxnard Shooting Investigation

The Oxnard Police Department has announced the arrest of two men in connection with a violent shooting that took place earlier this fall. On Friday December 19 specialized units served warrants in both Oxnard and Fillmore to capture the suspects believed to be responsible for an October attack. Both men are now facing serious felony charges that could put them away for a long time.
🔫 Chaos on Holly Avenue
The incident originally occurred on the afternoon of October 25 in the 500 block of Holly Avenue. When officers first arrived on the scene they found a 34 year old victim who had been shot. Investigators determined that the victim was actually driving his vehicle when the gunman opened fire which created an incredibly dangerous situation for everyone in the neighborhood.
The victim was rushed to a local hospital where he was treated for his gunshot wound. While he survived the shooting the suspects managed to escape before police could lock down the area. This triggered a months long investigation by violent crimes detectives who worked to piece together evidence and identify the shooters.
🕵️ Joint Operation Leads to Arrests
After weeks of gathering intelligence police linked a 35 year old Oxnard man and a 36 year old Fillmore man to the crime. Law enforcement agencies from across the county teamed up to serve arrest warrants at residences in both cities. The operation was successful and resulted in both men being taken into custody without any further violence.
During the searches of the suspects' homes investigators found firearms and ammunition. Police believe these weapons are directly connected to the October 25 shooting and will be used as key evidence in the upcoming trial. The two men have been charged with attempted murder as well as conspiracy and assault with a deadly weapon.
⚖️ Seeking Justice for the Community
The Oxnard Police Department is still asking for any witnesses to come forward with more information about what they saw on Holly Avenue that day. They are committed to reducing gun violence in the city and say that these arrests are a major step in holding violent offenders accountable. Both suspects are currently being held as the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office prepares to officially file the case in court.
