UCLA'S PROFESSOR ALLEGEDLY TOLD EPSTEIN TO PLAY A MOTHER'S VOICE FOR BABIES TO SUCK FASTER

A campus-wide investigation is looming at UCLA as recently unredacted Department of Justice (DOJ) documents expose the deep and disturbing connection between Professor Mark Tramo and convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

The files, released as part of a 3-million-page dump in early 2026, reveal that Tramo—an associate adjunct professor of neurology maintained a semi-regular relationship with Epstein from the late 1990s until the financier’s death in 2019.

"Cute" Students and "Dirty" Money

The most damaging revelation comes from a 2010 email exchange. Tramo reportedly forwarded inquiries from students seeking research opportunities to Epstein.

When Epstein responded by asking if the prospective students were "cute," Tramo replied, "We’ll see! (you’re terrible!)"

While Tramo has since expressed "embarrassment" and claimed the remark was "not prurient," student advocates argue the exchange shows a reckless disregard for student safety.

Further complicating his defense of a "purely scientific" relationship is a $100,000 check from an Epstein charity discovered in the records, along with a 2018 email where Tramo thanked Epstein for "making his course possible."

The "Mother’s Voice" Research

The documents also highlight Tramo’s research into auditory stimulation for infants. In a 2017 email, Tramo discussed a study with Epstein suggesting that newborns will suck on a pacifier more vigorously if it triggers a recording of their mother's voice.

While Tramo maintains this was a standard neurological study into infant brain development, the fact that he was sharing such specific data about the physiological responses of infants with a known high-risk pedophile has sparked widespread furor and online scrutiny.

UCLA Student Government Demands Action

On February 3, 2026, the Undergraduate Students Association Council (USAC) passed a unanimous resolution demanding that UCLA administrators launch a formal investigation into Tramo and any other faculty linked to the "Epstein Class."

  • Preferred Expert Removal: UCLA has already quietly removed Tramo from the university newsroom's list of "preferred experts" following the leaks.
  • Faculty Guidelines: The USAC resolution also calls for the establishment of strict ethical guidelines to govern faculty correspondence with donors who have criminal backgrounds.
  • Willful Ignorance: Despite Tramo’s claims that he was "duped" into believing Epstein’s crimes were minor, students have pointed out that Epstein’s status as a registered sex offender was a matter of global public record for over a decade while their correspondence continued.

Tramo remains on faculty as the investigation continues, though student groups have suggested a walkout if the university does not take more transparent disciplinary action.
