Jesus Gonzalez-Arteaga is never getting out of prison. An Oxnard jury has officially convicted the 44-year-old of a horrific string of sexual crimes that spanned over half a decade, from 2018 to 2024.

Between these years, Gonzalez-Arteaga continuously raped and molested a young girl, starting when she was just six years old.

Living in the same household and maintaining a familial relationship, he used his position of trust to prey on the victim until she found the courage to report the abuse to a family member.

The details of the case are so brutal that the jury found multiple special allegations to be true, including the infliction of "great bodily injury" during the commission of forcible rape.

Under California law, this specific aggravating circumstance strips the judge of discretion, making a sentence of Life Without Parole (LWOP) mandatory.

In addition to the life sentence, Gonzalez-Arteaga is facing an additional 91 years and 8 months to ensure he remains in custody for the remainder of his life.

He was found guilty on six felony counts, including continuous sexual abuse, unlawful acts with a child under 10, and possession of child sexual abuse material.

Sentencing is officially scheduled for May 7, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. in Room 26 of the Ventura County Superior Court. While the legal process is reaching its conclusion, the Ventura County District Attorney's office emphasized that the victim will likely carry the trauma of this "ultimate betrayal" for the rest of her life.
