A 17 year old boy is in custody after a violent domestic dispute escalated into kidnapping and false imprisonment at a Simi Valley home on Friday evening.

The Simi Valley Police Department responded to the 2200 block of Desert Creek Avenue just before 7 p.m. on April 17 2026.

The emergency call came from the suspect’s 15 year old brother who was whispering into the phone to avoid being discovered by the older sibling.

Investigators discovered that a fight had broken out between the brothers after the 17 year old allegedly assaulted his 16 year old girlfriend.

The suspect then reportedly forced the girl into a closet and locked her inside against her will.

When officers arrived they located the victim and observed visible injuries to her face neck and arms.

Public safety officials credited Rapid Deploy GPS technology for allowing them to pinpoint the exact location since the young caller was unable to speak clearly.

Records indicate the suspect was already on probation for a previous domestic violence incident involving the same victim and was under an active protection order.

The teen was detained at the scene and has since been booked into the Ventura County Juvenile Justice Facility.

He faces a long list of serious charges including kidnapping domestic battery false imprisonment and violation of a court order.

The Ventura County District Attorney’s office will now determine how to proceed with the prosecution given the suspect’s history of probation violations.

The 15 year old brother is being hailed as a hero for his quick thinking and bravery during the dangerous family dispute.
