VIEWPOINT TEACHER ARRESTED IN "UPSKIRT" AND CHILD PORN INVESTIGATION

CALABASAS, CA — The elite Viewpoint School community is reeling following the arrest and termination of a ten-year veteran elementary teacher.

The educator, whose identity is being closely guarded as the investigation widens, was reportedly taken into custody in late February 2026 after allegations surfaced of him taking "upskirt" photographs of young female students.

The scandal has sent shockwaves through one of Southern California's most prestigious private institutions, where annual tuition for the elementary grades can exceed $55,000.

A Decade of Alleged Misconduct

In a formal letter sent to families this week, the Head of School confirmed that the teacher was fired immediately upon the school learning of the allegations.

While the school has emphasized its "unwavering commitment to student safety," the community is grappling with the disturbing realization that the teacher had been a staple of the campus for a decade.

  • The Initial Discovery: Sources close to the investigation suggest the behavior was uncovered after a digital trail was found on a school-issued device.
  • Expanded Charges: While the arrest was initially centered on voyeurism ("upskirting"), local law enforcement and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department have reportedly expanded the probe to include federal-level charges of possession and distribution of child pornography.
  • Victim Notification: Forensic specialists are currently working through years of digital data to identify potential victims. The school has stated they are cooperating fully with authorities to ensure every impacted family is notified.

The School’s Response and "Pass the Trash" Concerns

Viewpoint School is no stranger to the complexities of teacher misconduct. The school previously faced a civil lawsuit in 2016 for allegedly "shielding" an inappropriate teacher who later moved to another elite school and was convicted of abuse.

In this current case, parents are demanding an independent audit of the school’s vetting and monitoring processes.

The "Short Leash" for Elite Private Schools

The arrest comes at a time of heightened scrutiny for California private schools. Legislators and parent advocacy groups are pointing to this incident as a reason to tighten reporting requirements, arguing that the "private" nature of these schools sometimes leads to internal handling of misconduct that should be immediately public.

The teacher is currently being held at the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station pending a formal arraignment. If the investigation confirms a decade-long pattern of behavior, he could face a life sentence in state or federal prison.
