Viral Video of Atlanta Surgeon Dancing During Operations Sparks Renewed Malpractice Debate

A resurfaced video of an Atlanta plastic surgeon dancing and singing during active surgical procedures has triggered a massive wave of public outcry and renewed scrutiny of medical oversight.

The footage, which has garnered over 684,000 views as of Friday, March 27, 2026, shows Dr. Windell Davis-Boutte singing and twerking while a sedated patient lies open on the operating table.

Davis-Boutte is seen rapping along to music and touching her cellphone with gloved hands, a move experts describe as a severe breach of sterile protocol and patient safety.

The surgeon, who has also operated under the name Catherine Davis, has a long history of professional disciplinary actions and multi-million dollar malpractice settlements across several years.

The Georgia Composite Medical Board suspended her license in 2018, labeling her a "threat to public safety" after investigating several botched procedures and ethical complaints.

Among the most prominent cases is that of Icilma Cornelius, a patient who suffered catastrophic and permanent brain damage following a 2016 cosmetic procedure under Davis-Boutte's care.

The family of Cornelius alleged the surgeon’s focus was on recording social media content rather than monitoring the patient’s vitals during the critical moments of the operation.

Court records indicate the patient went into cardiac arrest during the surgery, and the walk-in facility lacked the necessary equipment to safely transport her to an emergency vehicle.

Reports from late 2025 and early 2026 suggest Boutte recently moved her operations to Texas, where she allegedly managed med spas under the name Catherine Davis despite her prior history.

The latest viral surge was sparked by social media account @MyLordBebo, which framed the footage as a symptom of declining medical standards in the United States.

The post has ignited a heated debate, with users demanding permanent revocation of her credentials and questioning the effectiveness of broader industry oversight and diversity-focused policies.

Medical experts emphasize that the behavior in the video represents a profound disregard for anesthesia safety, sterile environments, and fundamental patient dignity.

The case remains a central point of discussion regarding the effectiveness of state medical boards in preventing disgraced physicians from practicing across different state lines.
